At 64, this was my second triathlon (Marlinton was my first, a month earlier). Thoroughly enjoyed myself. The run was mostly flat (a BIG plus), the paddle was beautiful, and although there was a big ol' hill to climb right off the bat, the bike ride was very enjoyable. The officials did an excellent job; there were police officers to make sure we crossed highways safely while biking, etc. The refreshments/lunch were great! All in all, an excellent "smaller" triathlon for anyone wanting to try out triathlon competitions for a first time or even if you are a "pro". Hope COVID-19 does not totally cancel the race. Was postponed until September (from May). Hopefully will be a nice day weather-wise just like 2019's race day.
