This 50 mile race course will take you through a very scenic back way through the Ashley National Forest. This course will begin at 8,800 feet, climbing up to 10,000 feet before entering the finish at Remember the Main park at 5,800 feet. This course is mostly on dirt roads. Iron Springs Campground begins the race from the Red Cloud Scenic Loop. The course follows the road to the highest heights, returning to the Red Cloud loop scenic road. The course then follows the road down Brownie Canyon into Dry fork Canyon finishing up at Remember the Main Park. These various 8 legs will be a beautiful adventure for even the average runner! Gather your closest friends and run a very scenic relay race that will be a memory for a lifetime.
Directions to Iron Springs Campground:
- From Vernal (Mains st.) Drive North on HWY 191 (19.7 mi)- turn left
- From Manilla (HWY 43) Drive south on HWY 44 and continue on HWY 191 (43 mi.)- turn right
- Continue on FR 020 (4 mi.)- turn left
- Follow road FR 018 (.5 mi)- camping area
Directions back to Vernal after race:
- From Remember the Main Park, turn left onto Dry Fork Canyon Road and becomes 3500 West (3.7 mi.)
- Turn left onto 500 N. (HWY 121) for 3.5 mi. to Main St. Vernal
