Bedford Red Brick Run

The first two decades of the Red Brick Run have been a great success, thanks to all of our great sponsors, volunteers and our RUNNERS!  We have had runners from all over the country come to the beautiful town of Bedford, Iowa to partake in this awesome day.  Join us for the 29th Annual Red Brick Run on May 18, 2024!

Red Brick Run FAQs

What is the terrain of the race route?

Runners and walkers of the 2 mile course will see a combination of brick streets and pavement on their route.  The route is mostly flat but there is one small hill at the halfway point.

5k runners will also see a combination of brick and pavement.  This route has one long gradual hill towards the end.  This route does have some time on a state highway, which is monitored by the Taylor County Sheriff's Department during the race.

The 10k route includes all of the 5k route but also goes in to the country on gravel roads.  There is a hilly section on the gravel section of this race.

Are strollers allowed?  Are bikes allowed?

Strollers are permissible for walkers or runners.  No bicycles, please.

Are restroom facilities available?

Restrooms will be available in City Hall, across the street from the Courthouse.

What is included in the registration fee?

The registration fee includes the entry to the race as well as a race t-shirt for the first 150 registrations.  All proceeds from this event benefit the Bedford Area Chamber.

What else can we do in Bedford on race day?

The Bedford Fire Department will host a Pancake Breakfast from 6-10 am at the Fire Station, located just 2 blocks east of the Courthouse.

Town-wide yard sales will also be going on.
