Billy Goat's Half Marathon Climb

Important News re: Billy Goat Half Marathon Climb. 

Protected wildlife activities are being monitored near our route, so the Forest Service requires that we change the race course. Therefore, Billy Goat Half Marathon Climb is being moved forward to Saturday, May 10, 2025. 

We are in the process of working with the Cleveland National Forest on an alternate course, and will announce all of the details as soon as we get Forest Service final approval. The new course will still be a climb and also will remain in the Trabuco District. We look forward to telling you more!

 

Billy Goat's original course is in Temescal Valley, California in the Cleveland National Forest. Traditionally, participants run up Indian Truck Trail (ITT) for a 2,800' gain out-and-back. That was our intention for April 5, 2025. As some of you may know, we were booted from ITT by a pair of nesting eagles. Fortunately, The Forest Service really bent over backward working with us to change the location. We love the US Forest Service.

7:45 am Race Briefing

8:00 am  1/2 marathon 

& 10k start

Cut-off: 1/2 marathon at the half way point (6.5 miles)  10:10 am  (2 hrs, 10 min.)

(If you make the cut-off at the half way point, there are no further cutoffs)
