Billy Goat's Half Marathon Climb

Important News re: Billy Goat Half Marathon Climb. 

Protected wildlife activities are being monitored near our route, so the Forest Service requires that we change the race course. Therefore, Billy Goat Half Marathon Climb is being moved forward to Saturday, May 10, 2025. 

We have a new location for the May 10 Billy Goat Half Marathon Climb. We will be going up Maple Springs Road to N. Main Divide this year. We ran at this location last year and it was beautiful. There will be some creek crossings and a nice long mountain climb with grand views. Maple Springs is located in Trabuco District, Cleveland National Forest just outside of Silverado. I will update websites and registration with elevation profiles and additional information soon.

Billy Goat's original course is in Temescal Valley, California in the Cleveland National Forest. Traditionally, participants run up Indian Truck Trail (ITT) for a 2,800' gain out-and-back. That was our intention for April 5, 2025. As some of you may know, we were booted from ITT due to protected wildlife activity. Fortunately, The Forest Service really bent over backward working with us to change the location. We love the US Forest Service!!!

8:00 am  1/2 marathon 

& 10k start

Cut-off: 1/2 marathon at the half way point (6.5 miles)  10:10 am  (2 hrs, 10 min.)

(If you make the cut-off at the half way point, there are no further cutoffs)

Early Starts with Race Director approval (For slower runners only)
