BYU- I Marathon Relay 2021
The relay marathon will begin at the sports complex that is right next to BYU-Idaho’s ropes course following roads along the countryside. The course totals 26.2 miles- a full Marathon. The relay is open to all Brigham Young University-Idaho students, employees, alumni and their dependents. Team captains are responsible to be familiar with everything listed in this BYU-I Relay Marathon Race Bible and to communicate pertinent information to team members.
Date & Time
Saturday, June 12th 2021.
The relay starts next BYU-Idaho’s ropes course the sports complex. Teams are assigned start times based on their team’s estimated time to complete the relay. Waves of teams start every 10 minutes. Slower teams are assigned start times closer to 7:00 am; faster teams closer to 8:30 am.
NOTE:To participate in the Relay, a team must average running 11 minutes per mile or faster. Teams running slower would eventually fall outside the time when safety officials are scheduled to be on the course. Also, since runners run alongside vehicle traffic, they must be mature enough to act safely in such an environment. Therefore, we recommend runners be at least 8 years old to participate.

Major Conflict
It's too bad this race is scheduled at the exact same time as the Teton Dam Marathon. We would love to volunteer to provide communication support along the temple-to-temple route, but the marathon is our biggest event of the year. Maybe next time.

Great race
This is the second year my team and I have run this race. This year the organization was a little more scattered than in previous years. However, that had no bearing on how much fun my team and I had prepping, running and enjoying this race. Will do it again and again every year as long as I am able.
