(race date estimated)Cory Adams Memorial 5K Run/Walk Race Description
Cory Adams was a long-time Poynette resident who passed away tragically on May 7th, 2011 after a car accident near Arlington. He was 19 years old. Despite his serious injuries, Cory was able to save four lives that day through the donation of his heart, lungs, liver, pancreas and kidneys. This event in Poynette will be held the morning of Saturday, July 30th in an effort to raise awareness of the wonderful gifts organ donation provides. Participants can choose between a 5K run or a 1.5 mile walk. Proceeds will be split four ways:
1. Poynette/Dekorra EMS
2. Scholarship for a local graduate pursing a career in health care
3. UW Organ and Tissue Donation Organization in Madison (http://www.uwhealth.org/organ-donation/organ-and-tissue-donation/10868)
4. Restoring Hope Transplant House in Middleton (http://www.restoringhope.org)
We will have a DJ with music and the local American Legion will be holding a fundraiser of their own at the finish line with lunch and beverages for sale.
Please join us in honoring Cory's memory and his gift of life!
