Crane 5K Fun Run Race Description
The YMCA Supportive Housing Campus (YSHC) is more than just housing—it’s home to 140 men and women who have faced significant challenges, including homelessness. We provide stable, affordable housing alongside on-site supportive services like case management, food recovery programs, and community events that foster connection and belonging.
The Crane 5K Fun Run isn’t just a race—it’s a journey of renewal and second chances. The paper crane symbolizes transformation, just like the new beginnings we help create for our residents. This event is dog and stroller friendly, welcoming all ages and abilities!
Why Participate?
This 5K supports the 140 residents who call the YSHC home, ensuring they have access to the supportive services they deserve. It also brings together community members and residents for a shared experience—one step at a time, side by side.
Training for a Purpose
Every week, YSHC residents join our Walking Club, building friendships, bettering their health, and preparing for race day. Many will be walking or running their first-ever 5K, making this event even more meaningful.
What to Expect

Crane 5k Review
This race was absolutely amazing! The organization made things easy to keep track of. The route was absolutely beautiful; touring around Grays lake and waterworks Park. The music and energy after finishing the race paired really well with the local food chosen. I also loved getting to choose my paper crane made by the residence we ran for. I wish there were more things like this in our community to give back. Overall a great event and I will definitely be joining again next year.
