One of the best 13.1 races!

Buses take participants to the top of the river head for a two group staggered start (8:30/8:45). The first 10 miles are mostly shaded with a slight downhill slope. The last 3 miles are flat, paved, and generally no shade. The mostly pressed gravel trail follows a river through the woods. Several water stops and police block traffic at crossings. This is the race to set a PR. The race ends with pizza, wraps, non-alcoholic drinks, and a live band. Well-organized. Easy and cheap parking at a nearby garage near downtown Morgantown. The medals and shirts are nice and proceeds go to upkeep the community trail. Plenty of walking distance hotels and restaurants for an overall great weekend stay. Cons are the typical crowded port-a-potties at the start line, the trail is narrow and crowded for the first quarter of a mile, and the 8:30/8:45 later start means more sun and heat the last few miles.
