(race date estimated)Eighter from Decatur Bicycle Rally Race Description
The Eighter from Decatur Bicycle Rally is a charity bicycle ride that benefits Raquel's Wings for Life, an organization that flies local cancer patients to MD Anderson in Houston, Texas, for treatment free of charge to the patient. This event is a fun-filled, family-friendly ride designed to get our participants out of the city to enjoy the back-country roads of Wise and Montague counties (with rolling hills), all while raising money for a worthwhile cause. Thank you for everyone who volunteered!
This was my first year doing this ride. I chose to the 100 mile (2x loop) and found it to be a good challenge. I'd like to say thank you to the volunteers at this race. They were great! This includes everyone that worked at the water stops to the motorcyclists to tracked the race. I was the last rider to finish the 100 mile route and I'm certain that without the help and encouragement from the volunteers, I would not have been able to finish. Thank you again and I look forward to next year's race!

.
This was one of the most enjoyable rides I've had in several years. Great course and great work by the organizers, too. This was my first visit to Decatur, too. The town square was, with its businesses, was a great place to begin and end the ride. Job well done!
Great cause; organized extremely well
Rode this with my son and a friend. Rode it for my daughter who at 22 is a cancer survivor! The ride course is a great challenge due to elevation gain (my Strava 5,500 ft in 102+ miles)! But the best was everyone who put it together and volunteered; awesome! Thank you and see you all next year!
