Fall Pier to Pier Run/Walk Race Description

For over 17 years, GI Joe Charles has been organizing this great fun Run/Walk along the beautiful beaches of Southern California! The Run/Walk starts at the Hermosa Beach Pier, heads to Manhattan Beach Pier and back to Hermosa Beach!

Join GI Joe and friends as he continues to rehabilitate from his STROKE…

 

 

The Run/Walk started off as a graduation test for all the students in GI Joe’s Boot Camp.  Charlie Saikley, Supervisor and Mentor, and the godfather of volleyball for over 40 years at the City of Manhattan Beach, Park and Recreational Department used to watch the Pier to Pier Graduation Run and saw that it was becoming a success. People all over the community started inquiring about the run, and wanted to know how to participate. So, in 2005-2006 Charlie Saikley and GI Joe made Pier to Pier Run/Walk a community event for all people.
