The 47th Annual Imogene Pass Run scheduled for Saturday September 12, 2020 will now be offered as a Virtual race. The Imogene Pass Run Board of Directors has made the difficult decision to cancel an in-person event due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The safety of participants, volunteers and staff along with the small communities of Ouray and Telluride is of the highest priority and hosting an event of this size would not be responsible at this time.

We previously postponed the opening of our registration in the hope of finding a way forward and continuing the long tradition of the Imogene Pass Run without changes. However, the scope of this event does not align with current legal regulations. While we are unable to host the in-person event, we are offering the opportunity to participate and run the event virtually, completing the distance at the time and location of your choice. Each participant will receive all the race goodies in the mail and the first 1500 registrations will be invited to priority entry into the 2021 event.

Entry fees will pay for the race goodies and help fund the IPR Scholarship program, giving over $25,000 per year to student athletes. The IPR also donates over $30,000 per year to local school running programs, and local charities who support youth athletics as well as the event. The IPR will continue to support these programs.

We are deeply sorry that we will not be seeing you in person this year and empathize with your disappointment. Registration for the virtual race will open on July 1st. We hope that you can join us for the Virtual event this year and please remember that the mountain will be there, waiting for you, in 2021.
