Not very impressed with this marathon. I ran the Huntsville half and it was very well done. I was very frustrated that we needed to take buses out at 6:15-6:30 for a race that started at 8:15. We got to the starting point at 6:45 and just sat in the bus for an hour. Very uncomfortable and no reason to be at the starting point 1.5 hours early!!!
Great small race, nice flat course, spirited volunteers. It doesn't have all the bells and whistles of a big race but also doesn't have the crowds. And for me it's close to home. RD could use some helpers though.
The race ran out of GU after mile 10. The amount of GU needed was not well estimated. Around mile 22 the aid station was on the wrong side of the road (had to cross busy Gentile street without any support). If you plan to run this next year, bring your own GU. I plan to run a different race unless this can be organized much better.

No hassles easy to sign up and fun to run.
Not impressed. Very rink-a-dink feel. The organizer calls it a low budget race but still charges $85 and it very much feels like a low budget race!
