There was a lot of public access to the course during the race, groups of cyclists and a group of drunk guys were on the course. the drunks were harassing the runners without an official in site. The guys even knocked over a porta potty in the trail. For most of the run you are completely isolated, it’s just not safe. Only the first runners get the light up medal, the rest of us got a cheap medal. After the race there were just open jars of peanut butter and loaves of bread. Overpriced race
Great Race, well organized. The only reason I didn't give it a 5 was because of the shirt situation where someone didn't order enough guy xl shirts so my husband didn't get one.
I'm fairly new to doing these runs, this was my 3rd, but it was a great time. Super friendly staff and smooth flow. Highly recommend this one. I'm looking to do more races with this organization!
I thought the course was great, the volunteers were great and it was well marked. My only complaint was in the awards/standings and how long that took and how unorganized that part was.
Sorry it took so long on the awards. We give out top 3 for each age group and distance. That may take a little time but we ran through them as fast as we could. The only thing we could have done to expedite them was to do less awards.
We found only one potty along the 10k. This race is in the dark, and there were no lights around the potty we found. We had to wait to use it, because again -only one, killing our time. The metal I received was different than everyone else who ran the 10k, and the flashers did not work. Results just posted, and they recorded my friends time, but not mine... Awesome.
We had around 200 extra medals that were not taken from that race. If you want a flashy one just pull the tab and if it does not work grab one of the other 200 that did work. There were a total of 3 potties on the 10K. One at the 5K turn around the 10K and 5K on the return. Sorry you did not find one.
Cool race and the after party was a lot of fun. The awards were pretty disorganized at the end so ended up waiting around for quite awhile to get my age group medal
? please explain. We got the awards out. It takes some time due to doing top 3 for each age group. If there was a delay it can be caused by that or if a racer signed up for the Half then raced the 5K or 10K. Often that can cause a mishap in the results or requires us to verify them because a person who signed up for the Half Marathon ran the 5K. This happens every race and can cause a delay. Besides that I am wondering what else you saw was a delay in the awards.
Nice course. This was well organized. Had great water stations and enough volunteers.
Worst race I’ve ever participated in. The only one worse than this was the Layton Half that this same group puts on. It is seriously like a group of neighborhood kids decided to run a kool-aid stand and have a some people run 13 miles as part of it. Do not waste your money. Go for a long run on your own and treat yourself to an ice cream cone afterwards. I don’t want others to waste their money like i did. I have done 10 plusbother half marathons. Hands down the worst!

My family was on vacation in Utah for a week, so I signed up for this race. What a unique experience! Running at night with all the glow lights and headlamps was really fun. The course was safe and easy to manage. Plenty of aid stations and super-friendly volunteers. The vibe was extremely positive and fun, complete with a DJ at the start/finish pumping out great music. I didn't know anyone there, but every person I met was friendly and welcoming. What a fun race! I hope to participate again.
The half marathon course was pretty good. I liked the out and back course. There was a very scary stretch where there was no one visibly in front of me or behind me and I felt I could just get kidnapped right off the course. The race packet started that the course would be lit along the path, but the only lights were at aid stations. Bug spray was a must, but that wasn't emphasized in the race packet. The medal ceremony was all messed up, with some runners switching medals with each other.
