This marathon could be amazing but truly needs input from runners. Better swag. Better support along the route. Contact schools to get bands to play, tech to get clubs involved. Have entertainment along the route. Timing strips along the route so you can be tracked. Have an Expo the day before invite vendors to come.

We travelled from Ohio to visit Lubbock and run the 1/2 marathon. We fell in love with the city and the people. The race is a smaller race, the organizers are super helpful, and the medals are sweet. Having run Cowtown in Ft. Worth a few times, we wanted to experience less humidity and a pretty flat track in West Texas. We chose Lubbock and had a great time, met great people, and had some great food. We stayed at the Pioneer Pocket Hotel downtown which allowed us to walk to the start/finish line. This was a great decision. We had a fantastic pasta dinner at Orlando's the night before the race. In the days leading up to the race we explored Texas Tech, the National Ranching Heritage Center, and Cagle Steaks Ranch. Overall, we had a great time!
