OEC Fun Run Race Description

Come and join us for our 1st OEC FUN RUN on December 3, 2022! It's going to be so much fun!

This fun run/walk will be at the Sugar Land Memorial Park on 15300 University Blvd. It is a fundraiser for the OEC Nguyen Foundation. This foundation honors the children of Nate Nguyen, who lost his three children in a house fire during the winter freeze of Feb 2021.

The 5K will be a single loop along the marked course and the 10K will be a double loop. The Kids 1K (12 and under) will be along University Blvd going back and forth along the marked course.

This will be a timed event and rewards will be given out at the end of the run for 1st place, 2nd place, 3rd place in the 5K, 10K, and the kids 1K. This is a family friendly event, so strollers are welcome! We will have food, music, and good laughs after!

100% of the proceeds will go to fire safety awareness, fire blankets, and second story ladders.

Additionally, the foundation will provide tuition assistance for qualified students at St. Laurence Catholic School, where the children attended.

6:30 am: Packet Pick-Up and Last Minute Registration Open at Race Site

7:45 am: Packet Pick-Up and Last Minute Registration Close

7:55 am: Prayer and National Anthem

8:00 am: 5K and 10K Start

9:30 am: Kids 1K Start

10:00 am: Awards/Raffle/Music/Food

Best Fun Run

I had a great experience with my daughter participating in this race to support a great cause. Luckily we did not get rain and the sun was not beating down on us. The pre-registration area was quick and easy. The path and trail was easy to follow. The volunteers were super helpful directing, cheering, and providing water for the crowd. Post-run snack and food was plentiful and delicious. Activities provided by the firefighters was so fun for the kids. Overall a wonderful fun time!
