The KOA is located approximately 10 minutes from Livingston, Texas on U.S. 109 at 15152 US Hwy., 190 West, Onalaska, 77380.

Enjoy a great lake swim followed by a beautiful scenic ride through Lake Livingston and a nice run on both routes. This event will start at 7am. This is a great practice event for all those doing fall Ironman's.

For the safety of all athletes, volunteers, and spectators these guide lines must be followed;

  • Everyone must answer a COVID-19 questionnaire at registration.
  • Everyone must have their temperature taken before entering the transition area and be below 100.0.
  • One athlete may pick up multiple packets, however; those that did not personally pick up their packets will be required to show a drivers licenses at the temperature check.
  • We will have open racking with only three athletes to a rack.
  • Athletes will need to wear a face mask during set up, but not during the event.
  • All volunteers will have face mask and gloves.
  • Hand sanitizer will be supplied for everyone.
  • Water and Gatorade will be supplied at aid stations and the finish line on tables for athletes to pick up.
  • Post race food will be packaged for easy pick up by all athletes.
  • The awards will be mailed out vs. our standard award ceremony and all winners announced.
  • And, last we are limit to 100 athletes!

These guidelines have been set by USA Triathlon and the CDC for a safe event. If you are okay with these guidelines we would love to see you in September.  Be safe.

Thankful to actually race

This was the first 70.3 race to be held in TX so I signed up. It is a challenging course with warm water, choppy swim and rolling bike and run. The bike course was not closed to traffic although there were police at one of the intersections. The run course could have been better marked, there was no signage to indicate the turnaround point and the map wasn't clear. I was told to keep running straight by the volunteer working at the aid station exactly where I was supposed to turn around; everyone was confused and ran different distances. The aid stations were supposed to have energy gels but didn't, however they did hand out ice cold waters at one stop which was so appreciative on a hot, humid day. The race director was very responsive to questions in the days leading up to the race.
