Orangeandblackgetfit Costume 5k 2025

Come and join #orangeandblackgetfit and Operations Veterans Helping Veterans at the Cy Young Festival for the 8th Annual Hero Hustle 5k Walk and Run!

We are excited to be back again this year to not only honor our military men and women in our surrounding communities but also be a part of the Cy Young Festival Weekend! All proceeds will go directly to support the Veterans, the #orangeandblackgetfit team, and the Cy Young Festival Committee in order to continue supporting all three non-profits.

This year's timed run will be a costume themed event! The theme of the race is “ Americana”. Runners are encouraged to dress in their best red, white & blue, military, or baseball themed outfits. The best costume in each category will receive a PRIZE! The top 3 men, women, and children aged 14 and under will also receive a MEDAL! 

The event will be held on June 28th, 2025 at Cy Young Memorial Park in Newcomerstown, Ohio. Race day registration and shirt pick up will take place between 8:15 am & 8:40 am at the pavilion in front of the Cy Young pool. The cost to run is $35; this includes a race t-shirt and a free day pass to Cy Young Pool! Please register online prior to June 28th (link will be available on the #orangeandblackgetfit and Cy Young Facebook page) to secure your spot and a shirt. **Runners who register the morning of the race will not be guaranteed a shirt.**

The opening ceremony will begin at 8:45 am and the race will start at 9:00 am. Water stops will be provided for race participants, and we will also have a food truck on site for runners to purchase refreshments after the race!

Please make note that the rain date will be on July 12th, 2025.

FREE!: All Veterans and kids under 9 run for free! (Shirts will still need to be purchased for kids). Please contact Autumn Hendershot to show proof of service.

Honoring our HEROES: If you would like to recognize or support a specific veteran this year, for an additional $10 you can get their name added to the back of our t-shirt! Please send your money via VENMO (or other type of payment) and the veteran's name to Ashley Klier.  

Shirts: Please message Ashley Klier at 740-294-1378 or via Facebook with shirt order(s) by June 13th, 2025. Even if you register online, please message about your shirt. If you would rather not walk or run in the 5k and still would like to purchase a shirt, please message Ashley. The cost is $30.

Volunteers: All are welcomed! If you would like to volunteer to work an intersection, please message Autumn Hendershot.
