On April 18th, 2019 we tragically lost our son during delivery. While staying at the hospital, we were able to keep our stillborn son in the room with us for over 24 hours. This was because of the Cuddle Cot that they had provided us with. A Cuddle Cot is a cooling bed used when a child is stillborn to give the parents time with their children. Clarion only had this one Cuddle Cot and they had never had to use it before; they hadn't even read the instructions on how to use it because they never thought this would happen to their patient. Since losing our son, we have joined many "Angel Momma" and "Angel Baby" Facebook groups. This is where we found out that other parents didn't get that time with their little angel because their hospital couldn't afford a Cuddle Cot for them. This 5k is to raise money to purchase Cuddle Cots for hospitals that can't afford one because that time after the birth was so life-changing and crucial for me.
