Pearland 5K Cancer Prevention Walk-Run

Walk-4-Loved-Ones, Walk-4-A-Cause

February is cancer prevention month and also valentine month, hence the walk-4-loved ones. The walk starts up with 10 minutes of aerobics led by the former junior olympian, Devon Fanfair. The ribbon is then cut by the honorable Mayor of Pearland, Mayor Tom Reid supported by the former olympian and coach at Rice University, Funmi Jimoh.  Walk kicks off promptly from Silverlake Elementary at 9:00 a.m.  Participants will walk/run down county road 90 through the beautiful golf community of Silverlake with its small hills and beautiful water ways to Bailey Road and back.  The weather is usually comfortably cool the later part of February as such lending to ease of completing the event.  Air1 radio station will be at the finish line along with volunteers to welcome participants.  Water is provided for those who need it along the part.  Dawson High School Band will be present to cheer participants.
