Police Bike Race to End Child Abuse Description

The Police Bike Race to End Child Abuse started in 2009 as a fundraiser in which officers from surrounding agencies, race in full uniform to raise awareness and more importantly provide financial support to Alliance for Children.  Alliance for Children is the only Tarrant County non-profit that provides protection from child abuse through coordinated and teamed investigations from law enforcement, Texas Department of Family and Protective Services, Cooks Children Medical Center and the Tarrant County District Attorneys Office.

Today the Police Bike Race to End Child Abuse has grown to five events, all with the same goal, to bring awareness to Alliance for Children.  We have an event for every member of the family.  There are two Kids Bike Races, ages 8 and under and then ages 9 to 13.  Both of these races are 1 mile long in length.

The Mayor's Race is a race where Mayor's of surrounding cities ride around the circle at Keller Town Hall on children's bicycles.  The citizen race is a 4.5 mile race on the paths and trails in and around Keller Town Hall and Bear Creek Park.

The finale to the days events is the Police Bike Race.  Officers will ride the 4.5 mile course while in full uniform. The winning Police Department (3 members) will take home (for one year) the Brenda J. Slovak Memorial Cup.  NEW THIS YEAR; there will be a short obstacle course as part of the race. Top three individual finishers in each race will get a medal.

Come take part in our event or come down and support this great organization.
