(race date estimated)Miracle on Kansas Avenue Rescue Run Race Description
Be a part of the Miracle on Kansas Avenue by joining other runners and walkers for the 14th annual MKA Rescue Run on the actual parade route starting at 5:00 PM; one hour before the parade begins. Since you'll be leading the parade, all Rescue Run participants will receive glow items in their packet and are encouraged to wear numerous lights and holiday costumes, so bring more of your own lights and "light up the night!"
The 2019 Rescue Run route will be identical to the 2018 route which includes some of its' original Four Mile course in addition to the most recent 5K courses, and will also include running through the tunnel under the south steps of the State Capitol on the first lap.
Want to participate but not able to join us on race day? Register and let us know that you won't be able to attend and we'll get your packet to you. Send us a picture from wherever you are by running the “Virtual Rescue Run” and you'll be entered to win our "Long Distance" award.
ALL Runners will start at 5:00 PM and will do two loops of the parade route (3.1 miles total) from the start line located in 100 block of West 6th Avenue, to the finish line located north of the start line at 534 S Kansas Ave. Walkers will also start at 5:00 PM and may do one loop of the parade route (1.5 miles total), or two loops (3.1 miles total), finishing at the same location. Walkers are eligible to run, walk, or do a combination of both running and walking and must finish or exit the course prior to the parade start at 6:00 pm.
Those registered as Runners will be officially timed with timing chips attached to their bib numbers and must complete both loops of the race course in order to be eligible for any awards.
Those registered as walkers will not be officially timed but can note their finish time by the clock located at the finish line.

Miracle on Kansas Avenue Rescue Run Reviews
Most Helpful Review
2016
I left this event feeling the course is repetitive and lackluster; I missed the turn for the 2nd lap because of unclear markings; the front runners were lapping myself and others adding to confusion; competitive runners were stumbling over unattended children, slower runners, and parade participants in the street; barriers in the middle of the course; etc. I do appreciate the volunteers and online registration abilities, but feel like the race course itself could use much improvement.
