Our Mission & Growth

Originally founded in February 2011 as The James and Derek Hotsinpiller Memorial Scholarship Fund, our goal was to provide educational funding to high school students and law enforcement officers pursuing careers in criminal justice. Thanks to our supporters, we have proudly awarded 69 scholarships and helped shape the future of law enforcement.

Recognizing the increasing needs of our law enforcement community, we expanded in February 2023 into The James and Derek Hotsinpiller Foundation Inc. This transition allows us to broaden our reach by:

• Continuing to provide scholarships to students and officers advancing their education.
• Enhancing law enforcement safety by funding protective equipment, K-9 units, and officer wellness initiatives.
• Supporting officers and their families facing unexpected hardships, such as injuries, disasters, or the loss of a loved one in the line of duty.

The Impact of Your Support

Thanks to our generous sponsors and donors, in 2024 we:
✅ Awarded two new scholarships to high school seniors committed to careers in criminal justice.
✅ Provided financial assistance to two officers injured in the line of duty and the families of fallen officers in West Virginia.
✅ Helped an officer who lost their home to a devastating fire, offering stability in a time of crisis.

As we begin 2025, our mission continues:
💙 We have already committed funding to K9 units, officers battling cancer, injured officers, and families of fallen heroes.
💙 With your support, we will expand our impact and continue standing by those who serve and protect us.
