The Teal & Tutus 5K aims to create a safe and inclusive space for survivors, their families, and allies to come together to advocate for change, provide support, and share resources. The event is more than just a run; it’s a movement to break the silence, raise awareness about the realities of sexual assault, and offer hope to those impacted by it.

How Funds Will Be Used:

Funds raised through the Teal & Tutus 5K will go directly toward initiatives that benefit survivors and their support systems. Key areas of focus include:

1. Facility Rentals for Peer Support Groups: The funds will help cover the cost of renting spaces for ongoing peer support group meetings. These groups offer a confidential and compassionate environment for survivors to share their experiences, build connections, and receive emotional support from others who understand their journey.

2. Providing Resources and Education: The event will support the creation and distribution of educational materials that provide essential resources for survivors, such as information about legal rights, local counseling services, and advocacy programs. These resources will also be made available at the event for attendees to take home and share with others.

3. Community Outreach and Advocacy: The event will fund efforts to reach a broader audience with educational campaigns and initiatives that promote sexual assault awareness and prevention. This could include hosting workshops, distributing information at schools and community centers, and engaging in social media outreach to educate the public and reduce stigma surrounding sexual assault.

4. Future Initiatives and Growth: As the event grows, the funds raised will also support the development of additional programs for survivors, such as self-defense classes, mental health counseling, and survivor empowerment workshops.

Event Highlights:

• Participants will walk, run, or jog in the 5K while wearing teal shirts or tutus, showing their support for sexual assault awareness and survivor solidarity.
• The day will include activities such as guest speakers, local survivor organizations offering resources, and a celebratory atmosphere of unity and support.
• The event encourages participants to fundraise and invite friends, family, and colleagues to join the cause.
