Chris Lynch was a long-time client of Home of Hope, moving in when he was 18 years old. Chris loved sports not only watching- he loved the Dallas Cowboys and OU Sooners- but participating. Chris enjoyed bowling, horseback riding, but golf was his first choice. Chris was a long-time member of the Home of Hope golf times and enjoyed golfing at area events and Special Olympics. His smile while on the course was contagious.
Chris loved his family and spending time with them. He spent many hours playing his favorite board game ‘Sorry’ with them.
Chris joined a fitness program at Reclaimed Fitness in Vinita and enjoyed working out. When his trainer retired Chris moved to training at CrossFit Vinita with Coach Chris King. Coach King sparked something in Chris and Chris enjoyed the challenges of Cross Fit with the different workouts of each class. The two became close and their smiles showed a friendship more than just business. One of the biggest smiles was when Chris was getting to ride ‘sit’ on Coaches Harley Davidson.
With the passing of Chris, a fund was started and with his family’s support and encouragement the “Silly Sports League” was created at Home of Hope. This league proved monthly sporting events for all of the individuals of Home of Hope.
The Annual Chris Lynch Turley Trot 5k, sponsored by CrossFit Vinita and others, will help support the “Silly Sports League” to keep it going
