From 2005 when Current Race Director Rick Crump won this race, and took over its leadership, it’s always been a community gathering for sport, and reunions. This Equilateral triathlon pride’s itself on the swim, bike, and run being most equal by time per leg. Some say it’s a swimmers race, but in reality this is one of few that give a great swimmer a equal chance to win against Uber bikers, and excellent runners. For me, it’s a race to enjoy, and feel the muscle burn of a little speed. “Show Us Your Speed” has often been the race motto. The theme would be “You Can Do It”, as leg distances are challenging, but short. I look forward to supporting Redondo Beach Triathlon for June 2022. -Robert Keating
