RiMaConn Relay Race Description

An epic relay adventure for 6-member teams or 3-person ultra teams!

Travel 95 miles on a network of scenic multi-use trails of the East Coast Greenway. It’s a unique, totally sustainable race that will get your team from Rhode Island through Massachusetts to Connecticut by the most eco-friendly transportation method ever – running.

This inaugural end-of-summer challenge will feature locally sourced food and ice cold local beer. Sweet swag for each participant includes a commemorative race shirt, a reusable water bottle, custom goodr sunglasses and an inaugural finisher’s medal to proudly display worthy of your epic accomplishment.

The race starts at the Pratt Dam in Lincoln, RI, and winds through 21 towns in Rhode Island, Massachusetts and Connecticut, passing along rivers, forests and along shaded trails. You’ll begin with a wave start on Saturday morning and cross the finish line in the evening surrounded by teammates, friends and family at a post-race party on the Connecticut River at Mortensen Riverfront Plaza in Hartford.

85% of the course runs on the Blackstone River Bikeway, Southern New England Trunkline Trail, Air Line Trail, Hop River Trail and Charter Oak Greenway. A small portion (15%) of the course travels on roads.

First year Nicely done event

I put together a 6 person team to run this event for my 65 birthday. The event was well organized for Hartford Marathon Committee first year doing this type of event. I’ve done a few other relays 100 & 200 miles. This is a nice course mostly off roads which is nice for running. I am sure a couple changes will be made also sure I’ll be putting a team together again....
