Love this event but every year I’m shocked by the total lack of police/ sheriff/ UHP. Over 400 miles and the only law enforcement we saw was at the last transition and they were only worried about us blocking the freaking sidewalk. Not one sag vehicle was seen and the light up turn signs were barely light by 3:00 in the morning. And there were so many sag vehicles shadowing their riders during the night making it unsafe for us cyclists who wanted to pass and for our sag cars to have to go around the slow moving cars. We saw at least 4 teams continuously shadowing their riders during the night. And no enforcement of it being discouraged.
This race is so much fun. Biking is exciting alone but add in a team of 8, over 240 miles, and no sleep and you have the recipe for a great event. I trained for this race and did it last year... I haven't looked back since. I have done 5 other bike races this summer and still can't wait to get back out on this ride. It is by far my favorite event of the year!
I've done support in previous years, but hopped on my bike in 2016 and joined Wheels of Torture. What an adventure of memory making with family and friends! See you in 2017
The course is excellent, lots of hills/mountains and its beautiful. I think the director does a great job of making sure this is a fun and safe event.
This was a fun race. Make sure you have a good team. It was a little bit more than a beginners race. You need to be moderately involved in things. Organization was good, safety adequate. Ample Porta potty’s.
We love every aspect of this very well run race! It's the funnest adventure your family will ever have. Except for Leg 21. It is too dangerous in all our teams opinion. Someone is going to be killed on this leg There's no shoulder, it's a canyon with steep descents and too much traffic to be safe. PLEASE change the route!

This is an awesome event! Very organized with an amazing support staff. I can't wait to do it again.
