Steps for Seizures 5k Walk Race Description

Please join us virtually on the weekend of November 26, 2021, for the 15th annual Steps for Seizures Virtual 5k walk hosted by Clayton's Hope Organization.  This will be our second year in a virtual format and, while the the landscape may be a different, the necessity for Epilepsy Research funding is needed more than ever. So, we continue to fight with the help of our extraordinary participants.  If you are new to this event, please visit our website for information on our organization, who funding benefits, and the remarkable differences we have been privileged to facilitate by support such as yours - www.claytonshope.org.

Although this year's event have been altered due to COVID, we remain diligent in our efforts.  Please share this event and aide us in spreading its message.  Historically, we have gathered in great numbers, this event will be no different.  We will be coming to you via a recorded message on Friday, November 26, 2021 to kick off the event, with Facebook messages throughout the weekend.  Also, we are asking you to upload your virtual walk to our Facebook page!  Continue to wear purple, make signs, wear team T-shirts, and whatever else you feel personalizes your participation.  While there is no fee to participate, we are hoping participants will still form a team and have the team "captain" create the team on the site.  Registration can be accessed by clicking the above link.  Participants can donate what they are able via PayPal through our website, by creating a fundraising page on this site, or by clicking the "Donate" button on this site.

On Sunday, November 28, 2021 the walk will end at 8pm.  Prizes will be awarded for the 2 largest teams and 2 teams raising the most donations.  It's easy, fun, and a COVID conscience event.  Remember to wear your masks if you are walking in in groups.

Steps for Seizures was founded in 2006, by Clayton's sister Ashley, and continues to grow each year. Due to the efforts of our supporters our registration has increased yearly - typically we have over 600 registrants!  We are hoping that COVID will aide in the ability for even more individuals to participate.

Although Clayton is no longer physically with us, he and his Epilepsy angel friends are with us in spirit. This walk is dedicated to the memory of Clayton Myers, Caitlin Bollendorf, Sebastian Saravia, Peter Hladasz III and Eric Flemming.  It is also held in Tribute to all individuals living with Epilepsy.

This event is fantastic! Coordinators are wonderful and the walk itself is so much fun, but the most important part is raising money for epilepsy! Not enough is being done and raising the awareness is so very important. No one should die from epilepsy, and with awareness and funding, hopefully that will happen sooner rather than later. I walk for my warrior daughter Jessica who has been fighting for 12 years. 8 brain surgeries later she is still seizing. Thank you Shelby!!
