Telos Turkey Triathlon & 5k

CANCELLED! Unfortunately due to an Officer Shortage at Orem City PD, we are forced to cancel the Turkey Tri for 2022. There are 4 intersections that require officer assistance and they are not able to help at this time. 

The Turkey Tri is a Splash distance triathlon which includes a 5k Run, 12 Mile Bike, and 350 Meter Swim in that order.

RUN
The 5K run is a single loop run with one uphill section on 800 West.

BIKE
The 12 mile bike course is a three loop set up. This is an open course; cars will be driving alongside you. Orem PD will be located at all 4-way stops and lights along the course. This does not mean that you should blow through the intersection. Please use caution as Orem PD will do their best to keep you safe. Be prepared for any weather conditions. Temps vary at around 45-50 degrees for the bike ride but be prepared for cold weather.

SWIM
The swim course is the last of the three disciplines and is indoor at the Orem Fitness Center. This is a 350 meter swim in a 50 meter pool. Participants will enter one end and finish at the other end. It is a snake style swim meaning the you swim 50 and snake under the line and swim the next 50 in the opposite direction. All swimmers will be traveling the same direction in their respective lanes. Water temps are around 80 degrees.

It is strongly encouraged that you pick your packet up Thursday or Friday to save on time, and help minimize big lines the morning of. Enter to win a T3 Goodie Bag if you pick up your packet in the shop prior to race day.

TRANSITION AREA AND PACKET PICK UP TIMES
Transition area will open for athletes at 7:15-8:30. Same day packet pick up will be available starting at 7:00 am however it is strongly encouraged to save on time you pick up your packet the week before at T3 Endurance Sports in Orem.  

TIMING
This is a chip timed race and all athletes will need to pick up their timing chip on race day at the start of the race.

SPECTATORS
Spectators will not be allowed in the transition area nor the pool area. Because it is a 3 loop bike course, there are chances to cheer them on as they come flying by near the transition area. 

BODY MARKING
Body marking will be available the morning of the race at packet pick up area.

REFUND POLICY

All entry fees are non-refundable. Once you register and make payment, you will not receive a refund if you are not able to participate for any reason

POST RACE FOOD
Post race food will be available for all athletes.

BATHROOM LOCATIONS
Portapotties will be available near the transition area.  Orem Fitness Center members are welcome to use the facilites prior to the race start. All other racers will not be able to use the Fitness center facilities until after the start of the race.

Orem police and the Orem Fitness Centers lifeguards will be on hand to help with safety and traffic control.

Medals will be awarded to the top three finishers in each age group and relay winners. Prizes for overall winners three deep in both genders. Random drawings for prizes will be given.

Come join the party. This is a fun race to watch so bring you friends and family. Better yet, challenge them to come race.
