The Proving Grounds at GTI Race Description
The Proving Grounds is a 1 day tactical competition that puts a competitors' skills to the test- mentally and physically. Comprised of 4 stages including a low/no light stage, competitors will be pushed to the to the brink of their abilities and then some. Do you have what it takes to Rise Above the competition?
Gear/Equipment:
Pistol - 9mm, 40 s&w, 45acp. Slide mounted red dots permitted in all divisions
Holster and Belt- Must retain pistol and cover the trigger during movements
Rifle - 223/5.56. 1 magnified or non-magnified optic permitted
Muzzle Device- Permitted devices: A2 or birdcage, extended A2, 3 or 4 prong. Suppressors are permitted however they cannot be removed from the weapon during the competition. Muzzle brakes and compensator are not permitted

The Proving Grounds was absolutely fun! Even though it was a new event it was well organized with a positive and dedicated group of staff and volunteers. Details in mission briefings were key to the highest success so it was more than navigating just the course of fire, you had to pay attention to your surroundings and recall aspects of the mission. Attention to all details is key! It was an entertaining and refreshing approach to other matches and I look forward to doing more!
