Mark Strabel founded Strabel Racing Services out of necessity. Mark was not able to find anyone able to time races efficiently. He started with the basic idea to get accurate results quickly. Mark started with timing high school XC Running races, then expanded to high school XC Ski races. Then local 5k races, mountain races needed timing services. In 2011, after exploring many chip timing companies Mark found out that many of the major companies expensive. Mark wanted to provide timing for the local 5km running races could afford chip timing, but still provide the accuracy of chip timing. Mark "built" his own chip timing system. I have been using the Summit Timing System, and piggy-backed chip timing into it. Fast forward to 2024, and We have partnered with RaceResult to provide accurate results quickly. Which has allowed flexibility to become familiar with many different timing systems in order to best suit any type of race.
