Walk A Mile in My Shoes - Benefit for CASA of Galveston County Race Description

Walk for the Prevention and Awareness of Child Abuse and Neglect

Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) of Galveston County recruits and trains community volunteers to serve as Guardian Ad Litems for abused and neglected children that have been removed from their homes. These volunteers become the one trusted and consistent adult in the life of these vulnerable children. These children need a voice-- and CASA volunteers serve as their voices in court, and make best interest recommendations to the family court judges who appoint them.

This 1-mile walk event will raise funds to train more volunteers to meet the needs of all children that need a CASA. There are more than 300 children in Galveston County that need a voice in the court.

Come dressed in Holiday Costume or wear your "Ugly" Sweater for special prizes to be awarded.

Your registration fee includes the following: Entry Fee, T-Shirt, and Raffle Ticket.

There will be light refreshments served.

COME ENJOY THE FUN - RAFFLE - GIVEAWAYS - VENDORS and support a child who needs a voice!

Race Location: Phoenix Fountain located at the Charles T. Doyle Convention Center - 2010 5th Ave, Texas City, TX 77590

This event will take place Rain or Shine!

T-Shirt pick-up will be the morning of the event beginning at 7:30 am
