Human trafficking is modern slavery. It exists around the wrold today, including the USA- and right here in West Michigan. A 16 year old teenage girl from the Muskegon area ordered to the Ottawa County Lighthouse treatment program has recognized the need to help others in her community, she has put together this race in efforts to help join her own community to help raise awareness to this difficult topic. Join us in this run/walk to support awareness to stop human trafficking. All proceeds from the walk will go to support Sacred Beginnings.
Sacred Beginnings is a non-profit transtional program for women recovering from human trafficking, sexual exploitation and substance abuse. Since 2005, they have provided shelter, advocacy, aftercare and rehabilitation programs for women in the West Michigan area. See more aout this program at the Sacred Beginnings website.
All proceeds to go to Sacred Beginnings, a non-profit working with women to get them out of sex trafficking.
